Managers and the org chart

A new Manager role lets managers work on the people in the units they lead, and the new org chart shows your organization's units and who leads them.

blueprnt has a third member role, Manager, beside Admin and HR. A manager account works on the people in the units its person leads, and the units themselves are drawn on a new org chart.

The org chart

Under People, the Org chart shows your organization's units as a map or as a list, each with its headcount and its responsible manager. HR creates and renames units, moves a unit by dragging it onto the unit it belongs under, and sets who leads each one. The payroll import places people in units from the file's department column, so an imported organization arrives with its structure. See The org chart.

A manager's own people

An admin adds a manager under Organization, Members, and ties the account to the manager's own person in the register. The manager then sees the people in the units they lead and in every unit under them: on Home, in the register and on each person's page. They update their people's details and pay, place them in roles and assess their seniority through the same steps HR uses, and every change is in the audit log. The evaluation model, the pay mapping and the rest of the organization stay with HR. See Working as a manager and Adding a manager.

Every member takes one seat, whatever the role, so a manager counts toward the same member limit as admins and HR.
